Brian J.
Mingus is
a graduate student in the Computational Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at
the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Brian creates neural network models of vision, audition, motor control,
and cognitive control. He is currently working on experiments and
connectionist models of endogenous self-control and self-directed
learning in children, so that he can teach our robots how to teach
themselves.
Brian coauthored
Generalization of Figure-Ground Segmentation
from Binocular to Monocular Vision in an
Embodied Biological Brain Model,
Dopamine and Self-Directed Learning,
Improving search in Wikipedia through quality and
concept discovery,
Exploring the Feasibility of Automatically Rating Online
Article Quality,
WikiCite: a Platform for Crowdsourcing and Discussing Citations in
Context, and
Bidirectional Biological Object Recognition and Figure-Ground
Segmentation.
He was winner of the
2011 Solomonoff Student Prize.
