Novamente LLC, a N. Bethesda, MD based software company focused on
Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), and cofounder of the nonprofit
Artificial General Intelligence Research Institute (AGIRI). He has
worked on the pursuit of AGI for the past 10
years. His research interests also include artificial life and
evolutionary computing.
Cassio is also the CTO of
Biomind LLC, a MD based
bioinformatics firm dedicated to the development and application of
innovative technology to integrative analysis of genomics and
proteomics data. In collaboration with leading life sciences
researchers, Biomind has identified mutational patterns in
mitochondrial DNA that correlate with Parkinson's disease, and also
uncovered the first genetic evidence for chronic fatigue syndrome.
Biomind's research efforts currently focus on the analysis of genomic
expression patterns of mice under caloric restriction.
He coauthored
Learning computer programs with the bayesian optimization
algorithm,
Genetic algorithm for analysis of mutations in Parkinson's
disease,
Novamente: An Integrative Architecture for General
Intelligence,
NL Comprehension via Integrative AI and Human-Computer
Interaction,
Identifying Complex Biological Interactions based on Categorical
Gene
Expression Data, and
Exploring Android Developmental Psychology in a Simulation
World.
Cassio earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science from UFMG and a MBA from
IBMEC, both in Brazil.
He coedited
Artificial General Intelligence, with chapters by the
leading AGI researchers,
