Gloria spent more than 18 years in the investment banking sector
servicing
major international banking institutions. She has held executive
positions at Smith Barney, Dresdner Bank, JP Morgan, and Merrill Lynch.
Most recently, she served as Managing Director of Strategic Debt
Solutions at Merrill Lynch, where she was the point person for managing
the sovereign wealth funds of Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium,
she managed and directed a global team of more than 150 investment
bankers with a €50 billion long-term debt portfolio annually.
After being offered a position at one of the Major Banking houses as
Managing Director of European Corporate and Public Sector Division
(structured derivatives and long-term interest-rates), Gloria decided to
pursue her passion for socially responsible development. She launched
Better World Finance LLC (BWF), in which she combined her extensive
industry knowledge and her desire to promote economic prosperity in
developing countries. Headquartered in London, BWF aims to create new
financial vehicles for the funding of socially responsible projects. The
firm focuses on constructing financially sound and self-sustainable
solutions, with a specific focus on accelerating technologies,
environment, energy, and health.
Her mission is to introduce a second and parallel financial market
(credit, debt, and equity) that offers world investors the choice to
participate in the creation of a world economy where values, motivation,
and salary schemes support the maximization of human potential.
