Justin Tarrants, M.A.
is Corporate Strategy and Technology Advisor at
Life Exchange Inc.
(LFXG).
Justin is a technology and globalization consultant who advises NGOs,
private corporations, and government agencies on various business
processes and
financing. Currently he is involved in several consulting
engagements with alternative energy, micro-finance, trade, and
technology projects in South America.
Justin was formerly a Trade Commissioner with the Department of
Foreign Affairs and International Trade. As a Trade Commissioner, he
provided business development services to technology, aerospace,
and defense companies through the development of strategic partnerships,
alliances, and advocacy efforts in the Florida and Latin America region.
In addition to business development, his role also involved assisting
companies with international compliance and dealing directly foreign
government agencies in the region.
During the tech boom of the late nineties, he worked as a
business intelligence analyst for a California-based technology research
firm where he reviewed new technologies in the digital media, internet,
and wireless sectors. He is considered an expert in
new technologies and considers himself to be a “futurist” in this
regard; closely following trends in quantum computing, nanotechnology,
biotechnology, alternative energies, and analyzing how these new
technologies will affect future global market economies.
Justin earned his BA in Global Studies/Economics with a minor in
Computer Information Systems from
California State in 1997 and his Masters
in International Trade and Commercial Diplomacy
from
the
Monterey Institute of International Studies in 1999. He is married to
his wife
Imyra of nearly 10 years and now resides in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil.
