Professor Narasimalu Srikanth

Narasimalu Srikanth, Ph.D. is Adjunct Associate Professor at Division of Aerospace Engineering, School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, College of Engineering, Nanyang Technological University and Technical Director/Senior Specialist at Vestas Wind Turbine Systems.
 
Vestas is the largest manufacturer, seller, installer, and servicer of wind turbines in the world with manufacturing plants in Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, Britain, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Australia, China, and the United States, and employs more than 20,000 people globally.
 
Narasimalu coauthored Design and development of a high precision lens focusing mechanism using flexure bearings, Finite Element Based Energy Dissipation Studies of Al-SiC Composites, Damping characterization of Mg—SiC composites using an integrated suspended beam method and new circle-fit approach, Effect of wire diameter on the thermosonic bond reliability, Enhanced damping of a magnesium alloy by addition of copper, and Damping Characterization of Aluminium Based Composites Using an Innovative Circle-Fit Approach.
 
His patents include Mold flash removal process for electronic devices, Forced heat transfer apparatus for heating stacked dies, Bonding apparatus comprising improved oscillation amplification device, Transducer tool holder, Passive damping of vibrations in a support structure, and Oven for controlled heating of compounds at varying temperatures.
 
Narasimalu earned his B.E. at Madras University, India in 1990 and his M. Tech in Design Engineering (Mechanical) at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1992. He earned his M. Sc in Materials Engineering at the National University of Singapore in 1994 and his Ph.D. in Composites, Vibration Damping, Materials Engineering at the National University of Singapore in 2005 with the thesis Energy dissipation in metal matrix composites.
