René
Balle, MBA is Vice President Technology R&D at Vestas Wind Systems
and has been responsible for
Vestas Innovation since 2007 an area that includes the Vestas
Open Innovation Platform with more than 300 active industrial and
academic partners.
Vestas Wind Systems is a Danish manufacturer, seller, installer, and
servicer of wind turbines. It is the largest in the world with
manufacturing plants in Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, Britain, Spain,
Sweden, Norway, Australia, China, and the United States, and employs
more than 20,000 people globally.
As of 2011, Vestas wind turbines generate enough electricity to provide
for 21 million people. In January 2011, Vestas won the $1.5 million
Zayed Future Energy Prize in Abu Dhabi.
René brings with him substantial experience within business
development, R&D management, and innovation from previous management
positions with Radiometer Medical A/S and Danaher Corp.
René earned his Bs. EE. in Electronics and Software for medical
applications
at the
Engineering College of Aarhus, Denmark in 1996.
He studied Comprehensive Management at the Stanford University Graduate
School of Business in 2004.
He earned his MBA in Technology, Market, and Organization at
Copenhagen Business School, Denmark in 2005.
He studied Negotiation & Competitive Decision Making at
Harvard Business School in 2006.
He studied Strategic Financial Evaluation for New Business Opportunities
at Harvard Business School in 2007.
He graduated the Exponential Technologies Executive Program at
Singularity University in 2010.
