Stuart R.G. Calimport, M.Sc., M.A.
is Project Development Coordinator of the SENS Foundation Academic
Initiative.
His research interests lie in the fields of biogerontology, cellular
senescence, stem cells, systems
biology, neurodegenerative disease, synthetic biology, dissipative
systems, translational research,
mitochondrial and lysosomal molecular biology, telomeres, cell
signalling, cellular
senescence, cellular rejuvenation, applied gerontology, biotech and
regenerative medicine.
His lab-based research includes:
- Working in Dr Stephen Dove’s laboratory, University Of Birmingham, in summer 2006 on the project: “Are Fab1p or PtdIns(3,5)P2 required for retromer function?”
- Working for 6-months under Dr Jesus Gil in the Cell Proliferation Group laboratory in the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London, Hammersmith Hospital Campus on the project: “Identification and characterization of novel factors regulating senescence and cancer” paying particular attention on the p16INK4a/ARF locus.
- Internship at Immunepath Inc. in Silicon Valley, California working in automated stem cell analytic with liquid handling robots.
