Dr. Vlad Senatorov

Vlad Senatorov, Ph.D. is the Cofounder and CSO at Reservoir Neuroscience.

Reservoir Neuroscience is the operator of a biopharma intended for developing novel therapeutics to treat and heal the blood-brain barrier. The company’s therapeutics help repair dysfunctional blood vessels in the brain, to treat Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders, enabling patients to get access to medical procedures that dramatically improve disease outcomes. Vlad began his career in 2018 as a Siebel Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley in the Department of Integrative Biology and Berkeley Stem Cell Center. In 2019, he became the Cofounder and CSO at Reservoir Neuroscience, a venture-backed startup treating Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Vlad earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neuroscience from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018 with his dissertation Mechanisms and Treatment of Blood-Brain Barrier Dysfunction and Related Pathology During Aging. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland between 2004 and 2008. He was also one of the Bakar Innovation Fellows at UC Berkeley.

Vlad also obtained a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Technology from the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology in May 2016.

In his paper, Stress: As We Age, the Shield that Protects the Brain Gets Leaky, Vlad presented his findings that showed that the blood-brain barrier becomes inefficient with age, allowing a protein called albumin to escape and incorrectly bind with receptors in the brain. This causes neurons to misfire and results in cognitive decline. Read Training the world’s youngest brain scientists.

Vlad was invited speaker at the Rejuvenation Startup Summit 2024, the leading networking event for rejuvenation startups, longevity investors, and translational researchers. Read Rejuvenation Startup Summit 2024 announces first set of speakers.
